Today, instead of a journal entry, we took about ten minutes to finish up our Act IV questions and turn them in.

Following this, we read Act V in small groups. We then answered the following questions over the act in complete sentences:

  1. Why doesn’t Romeo get the Friar’s letter?
  2. What does the apothecary give Romeo?
  3. What happens to Paris, and who is responsible?
  4. How does Romeo die?
  5. How does Juliet first try to kill herself? How does she actually die?
  6. In Act V Scene 3, how could the Friar have prevented Juliet’s death?
  7. Which two characters get arrested by the Watch?
  8. One other character dies in Scene 3; who is it, and what causes the death?
  9. Who tells the whole story to the Prince?
  10. What happens between the Capulets and Montagues as a result of this tragedy?
