Today was the second day of your final exam; we watched the end of The Fifth Element and had some time to discuss our finals. Remember that you can bring your interactive notebook, outline, notes, CDW chart -- anything EXCEPT a draft or prewritten essay.

Your psychological lit crit practice was due today.

Today was the first day of your final exam. Please download the attachment below for the instructions and overview of the final exam. In preparation for the exam, we watched the first 50 minutes of The Fifth Element today in class. If you were absent, you will be well-served by finding and watching this much of the movie before returning to class on Monday.

Your book reviews were due today.

Today was the first day of our final and most important unit. If you were absent it is CRUCIAL that you get all of the notes (download here) and the assignment (on the final slide of the notes). You will probably also want to talk to a trusted peer about how to understand this information. The assignment is due Wednesday.
 
Today we finished up our presentations.

Afterward, we read four example book reviews: The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane, What I Was, Blood Oath, and An Abundance of Katherines. If you were absent, READ THESE REVIEWS. All of them can be found on the Reviews page of this website.

You are assigned to do a book review in a similar style for your book. Please download the attachment and follow the instructions. The book review is due on Monday, December 3.

Your portfolio should have the following contents, all 3-hole-punched (CDs can be in the back pocket of the binder). Please make sure that your name is on each item in the folder so I know exactly what YOU did, as opposed to your partners.

1. Front cover with title, author, and names of all group members.
2. Daily worksheets IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER -- all sheets from the same date together.
3. Book covers (1 per group member)
4. Character profiles (3+ per group)
5. Scene Illustrations (1 per group member)
6. Letters to characters (1 per group member -- typed or "perfect ink")
7. Letters to authors (1 per group member -- typed or "perfect ink")
8. Soudntrack assignments (3+ songs per group)
