Today's vocabulary word was innocuous and the journal entry was Benjamin Franklin once said, “Those who would sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither.” H.L. Mencken said, “Most people want security in this world, not liberty.” President Eisenhower said, “If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking... is freedom.” Where is the line, in your eyes? Think about air travel… metal detectors… firewalls on school computers…

Today we read chapters 3-6 of Little Brother. As we read, we did written and visual summaries of each chapter on a sheet of printer paper folded into six boxes. On the front side, looking at the page horizontally, the top three boxes are for illustrated key scenes of each chapter (chapters 1, 2, and 3). The bottom three boxes are for written summaries of what happened in the chapters. Chapters 4, 5, and 6 are continued on the back of the page. This will be due next time.

If you were unable to finish the reading in class, you can download the chapters below, or go to http://craphound.com/littlebrother/download/ to download the book for your eReader or computer.
